Allen Frank, owner and proprietor of the Drytown Club, began his career as a song writer and blues guitar player in Arlington Va. In the 70’s. Eventually moving to West Florida, and then to Los Angeles, finally settling into the sleepy little town of Boulder Creek Ca. in 1979. Bandleader and founder of several different bands including the popular west coast group ‘The Firebirds’, he has toured the west coast for years and landed on stage with many of the luminaries that made the San Francisco area famous. He has shared the stage with: BB King ,Bonnie Rait ,Elvin Bishop ,Jimmie Vaughn ,Greg Allmann, Delbert McClinton Darren Trucks Maria Muldar Kim Wilson Robben Ford James Harmon Chris Cain Curtis Lawson David Lindley ,Joe Louis Walker ,The Fabulous Thunderbirds ,Canned Heat, Spirit, Commander Cody, Johnnie Winter ,Smokin’ Joe kubek, Sista Monica.
An accomplished songwriter, Allen has found several cuts from several recordings played on radio stations throughout the world. Sometimes called too Jazzy for Blues and too Bluesy for Jazz he has developed his own unique style and sound. Now, settled into another sleepy little town, Drytown Ca. with his newly formed group ‘The Leather Souls’, Allen is offering up his new release of originals, and special covers that have meant much to his playing career. Along with longtime friend Allen Kreutzer on drums The‘Leather Souls’ also include local player, Rick Arnold on bass guitar
